New data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows that workers in Ireland saw an increase in average weekly earnings in the final quarter of 2023. The Garda had the highest average weekly earnings in the public sector.

Workers across the Republic are making more money, with average weekly earnings up by 2.1% in the final quarter of last year compared to the same period of 2022. The Garda had the highest average weekly earnings in the public sector at €1,471.40. The arts, entertainment, recreation, and other service activities sector saw the largest annual percentage increase in average weekly earnings, followed by the administrative and support services sector. Average hourly earnings also grew by 2.
