BlackRock global chief investment strategist Wei Li says the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence demands a new class of specialists, signalling the end of the era of generalist investing.
Li tells the Business Summit that only specialists can understand and value the kind of AI projects that more and more companies are implementing and discussing in their reporting. “I genuinely feel, as we move through the Magnificent Seven as the implementers of the AI theme that the era of generalist investing is over,” she says. “We actually need real specialists to be able to be very discerning.
