NFP MP, NEC member & Premier candidate for the Western Cape Ahmed Shaik Emam, says this year the party is contesting all nine provinces.The party was disqualified from participating in the 2016 municipal election as it had failed to pay the election fee to the Independent Electoral Commission.NFP MP, NEC member and Premier candidate for the Western Cape Ahmed Shaik Emam, says this year the party is contesting all nine provinces.

He says contrary to popular belief that the party only has support in KZN, they have made massive inroads and their are stronger than ever before. He says some of the points on their manifesto include economic development, job creation, challenges facing SMEs, separation of administration from politics and land expropriation.
