Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation signs a memorandum of understanding with Lapharo Incubation firm

The Sudbury-based CEMI organization — the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation — has signed an agreement with a South African business development company to work toward more mining innovation.

A CEMI news release said the new memorandum of understanding with Lepharo Incubation Programme NPC was signed at a recent event in Johannesburg, South Africa. Chamirai Charles Nyabeze of Sudbury, Vice President for Business Development at CEMI, and Zenzo Nkomo, CEO of Lepharo Incubation Programme NPC, formally executed the MoU during a signing ceremony, witnessed by Chris Cooter, the Canada High Commissioner to South Africa, Honorable Chris Cooter along with representatives from the South African government and the private sector, said the release.

This historic partnership signifies a significant step towards enhancing technology transfer between Canada and South Africa in the mining sector, said the release. By leveraging each other's expertise and resources, CEMI and Lepharo Incubation Programme NPC aim to create a mutually beneficial environment for innovation and growth."This partnership opens doors for groundbreaking advancements in mining technology.
