Around 400 employees a day lost their jobs or were warned of redundancy between Christmas and February this year, a study found.The job losses reflect the collapse of a number of high street namesIn the first half of 2018, a whopping 2,692 stores closed while openings were also down a third, according to a study by accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Local Data Company, which looked into 500 high streets.
Sergeant Andrew Hedley, of South Wales Police, said: "It is important to emphasise that crime is only a part of what our officers deal with and there are many other challenges we face, including mental health concerns, and vulnerable missing people, which our officers respond to and manage on a day to day basis.
