The Negeri Sembilan state government will be studying the effects of the cockle farming industry in Port Dickson following a biotoxin contamination case before taking appropriate measures to assist affected fishermen and entrepreneurs. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said they are always attentive to the needs of entrepreneurs and fishermen, especially after Singapore took action to restrict the supply and sale of cockles from Port Dickson. He added that although the cockle industry in the state is not large, it is an important source of income for fishermen, and they will take further steps to assess the impact on coastal fishermen.
