Users of TPG Telecom and iiNet email addresses have to deal with a call centre in the Philippines and a parent company in the northern hemisphere after their accounts were handed over to The Messaging Company, whose ownership appears to have already changed hands.

ASIC filings reveal that Atmail and The Messaging Company now have two Norwegian directors, Dag Rognlien Stenberg and Inbox.com chief executive Havard Langmoen. There is just one Australian director, Atmail CEO David Richards. Mr Dyson said in a press release that the sale to Inbox.com had been “a financial win” for Atmail’s investors but did not specify the price.

Mr Richards said the company was “investigating the opportunity” to bring the call centre to Australia.
