Former Everton CEO, Keith Wyness, suggests that Premier League clubs may vote to introduce a luxury tax in order to attract potential new owners and allow for unlimited spending. This could benefit clubs like Manchester City and Newcastle, who are already backed by wealthy investors.

has suggested Man City and Newcastle are set to benefit from “unlimited spending” if a Premier League luxury tax is introduced., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed other top-flight clubs could vote to introduce the system in the hopes of becoming state-owned clubs in the future.
