UPDATE: San Antonio Police Chief William McManus posted an updated on X that four were injured in the shooting .It was just after midnight when San Antonio Police Chief William McManus says two men opened fire on each other in Market Square. One died. Officers returned fire on the other suspect, killing him.
“We have a very busy crime scene here. We had two individuals open fire on each other right in the middle of Margarita Alley," explained Chief McManus. "So two individuals that were shooting at each other. One is dead on the scene. The other was transported to the hospital, and he was just pronounced dead."
McManus says six innocent bystanders were shot as well. Two were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The other four were treated at the scene."The two individuals that were shot were young men. Both were armed and shooting at each other," said McManus. "There were two weapons recovered at the scene. One is next to the individual who is deceased on the scene.
