San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said two men opened fire on each other in front of Margarita Alley.

Two people were killed and four were injured early Sunday morning after a shooting broke out during a Fiesta event at Market Square. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said two men opened fire on each other around midnight in front of Margarita Alley, an outdoor space adjacent to Market Square that’s set between the buildings that house the Mi Tierra and La Margarita restaurants.

The shooting happened just as the Fiesta Flambeau parade concluded, according to various social media posts from those in the downtown area at the time of the shooting. McManus said when police responded, two officers opened fire and one man was pronounced dead. The chief originally said six people were injured during the shooting but later tweeted that four were injured.
