His shooter has yet to be arrested.SAN ANTONIO — As law enforcement and Fiesta organizers mull their options for improving security at popular annual events like Fiesta de los Reyes, whereover the weekend, police continue to investigate a 2023 shooting that also took place at Market Square while packed with revelers.

Almost exactly a year before authorities say two young men were killed after opening fire on each other Sunday morning, police saidIt happened on April 26, 2023, but police confirmed Tuesday that no arrests have been made. Omar Rodriguez was hospitalized for a few weeks after he went to Fiesta de los Reyes with his wife and other family members only for him to end up in the hospital. He told KENS 5 last year that another family member got into a disagreement with someone when he started pulling her away. "When I hit that floor, I was like, 'I am going to die,'" said Rodriguez, who added the bullet was just inches from his heart."It was fast. It went this way and it came out in the back.

Asked about any potential updates in the case, an SAPD spokesperson told KENS 5 on Monday that they"encourage anyone who may have information from the night of the shooting to contact our homicide unit at 207-7635.
