I investigated the disturbing trend seen at Market Square during Fiesta, several weapons were confiscated including right before an 18-year-old and a 20-year-old were killed. Reporters obtained exclusive information through an open records request that SAPD confiscated 12 weapons from Market Square during the Fiesta time of April 17 through 28.

Sheriff Javier Salazar said, "The vehicle that fled was a stolen pickup truck. That pickup truck led us on a high-speed pursuit near the 151 area outside 1604. We ended up almost to Seguin in high-speed pursuit of these guys in a stolen pickup with a bunch of juveniles and a stolen gun in the car.” “They're at shopping centers, they're at restaurants, they're at every public place you can think of, and those guns are then very soon used in shootings, trafficked to Mexico, trafficked to other cities, and used in shootings there,” said Topper.
