Throwflame, an Ohio-based flamethrower manufacturer, has launched Thermonator, the "first-ever flamethrower-wielding robot dog," according to the company. The remotely-operated flamethrower weights 37 pounds, features a 30-foot firing range, and is available for purchase at a price of $9,420. If you’re in the market for a robotic dog with a flamethrower attached to its back, you’re in luck.
The remote-operated Thermonator weighs 37 pounds and features a 30-foot firing range, laser sighting, LIDAR mapping and WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities. The flamethrowing robot dog can be used for wildfire control and prevention, agricultural management, ecological conservation, and snow and ice removal, according to Throwflame.
Thermonator is currently available for $9,420. Throwflame offers a 30-day refund and return policy, but the product must be unused and in the same condition, with a 15% restocking fee applied to refunds on purchases, according to the company. Flamethrowers are legal across the U.S., though California and Maryland each have specific restrictions, according to Throwflame. California limits the range of flamethrowers to 10 feet while Maryland requires flamethrower owners to have a Type 9, Type 10 or Type 11 Federal Firearms License.
In addition to Thermonator, Throwflame offers four additional flamethrower products: the X15, XL18, TF-19 WASP, and ARC Flamethrower, the latter of which is coupled with Thermonator. If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
