However, the company beat analyst expectations for the first quarter. Block — Shares popped 9% a day after the payment services provider reported first-quarter adjusted earnings of 85 cents per share, topping the 72 cents per share expected in a LSEG analyst poll. Revenue was $5.96 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $5.82 billion.
