Starting May 18, more than 65 vendors selling locally grown fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers, heirloom produce, meats, cheeses and more will fill the city’s historic square every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SNAP benefit holders can go to the main farmers market tent and swipe their card to receive wooden tokens that can be used to purchase products at the market booths. “Usually, these TANF funds go to more urban areas because that is where there is the biggest need,” said Angela Mansier of Main Street Medina.Mansier said the market will distribute 50 coupon booklets worth $140 each to the first 50 eligible customers.

Mansier said individuals eligible for the booklets don’t need to be eligible for SNAP benefits. They must have a child under the age of 18 living at their home or they must be pregnant.
