New tent structure at Harrisburg's Broad Street Market is nearly finished; 'soft launch' set for May 23

There will be 9 vendors in the new structure, which is across the street from the Market's Stone Building, according to the Broad Street Market Alliance.The City of Harrisburg and the Broad Street Market Alliance on Wednesday announced that construction and final inspections for a new tent structure across from the Market's Stone Building are nearly complete, and a"soft launch" of the new structure has been scheduled for later this month.

“When the public has the chance to see the new space on May 23, we think it will be apparent that despite the exterior, it is so much more than a tent -- it’s a wonderful, vibrant place to get the produce, meats, and treats we’ve been missing for months. And it’s the first step on the Market’s road to lasting recovery.”

Harrisburg Mayor Wanda Williams’s administration, which managed the construction effort, and Governor Josh Shapiro’s administration for their support throughout the construction;Touch of Color Flooring, which donated commercial-grade vinyl flooring;
