U.S. stocks finished lower on Thursday as investors look ahead to the beginning of earnings season, which unofficially kicks off on Friday. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.00% was virtually flat at 2,888. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.05% shed 14 points, or less than 0.1%, to end near 26,143. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, -0.21% fell 0.2% to finish around 7,947. JPMorgan Chase & Co. JPM, +0.84% and Wells Fargo & Co. WFC, -0.
