Fraser MacIntyre insists success lies far beyond the pitch if Ayr are to enjoy a bright future.

Ayr United's latest off field investment is proof they are serious about an ambitious future for the club.

Ayr are to appoint a Conference and Events Manager and Food and Beverage boss at a cost of around £70,000 per year. The move comes as United prepare to cut the ribbon on their North Stand development, which will open in time for the new 2024/25 season. MacIntyre told the Ayrshire Post: "We need to be serious about operating as a business - and a sustainable one at that. Our chairman has been kind enough to put his hand in his own pocket and provide the club with the Hub and now the North Stand. But none of that is any use if we then stand still. These are not vanity projects.

"So we need a team off the pitch which is commensurate with the standard required. In any business, if you are serious about going to the next level, you need that culture shift and this is an ambitious and exciting time for our club. Yes, this represents a significant personnel investment, but it's one from which we will see the benefit."
