When Ally and James Dowsing-Reynolds bought their Grade II listed house in fashionable Far Headingley in 2016 it was in dire need of renovation.

It had been empty for two years and there was no running water and no electricity and the large garden at the rear was a jungle. Few had the guts to go for it but Ally and James knew exactly how it could be. The couple are both creatives and founders of the top UK interiors business Dowsing & Reynolds which specialises in beautifully designed lighting, switches, sockets, hardware and home accessories.

A new kitchen with Dekton worktops and Miele appliances was also recently installed in a collaboration with Magnet designers who wanted to show off their flair. The kitchen is now in the running for an Ideal Home award. Head of Design at Magnet Jenny Nash teamed up with James to get the look.
