NatJoints calls for peaceful resolution of taxi disputes within the transport industry as the nation prepares for elections.

The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure has called on the transport industry to resolve their taxi disputes amicably, as the nation prepares for elections.and Durban have heightened concerns. Last week, taxi operators blocked sections of the N2 and N3 highways in KwaZulu-Natal, demanding the release of their impounded taxis., exacerbating the situation. The operators complained that their vehicles are being impounded and that obtaining permits takes an unreasonably long time.

NATJOINTS chairperson Tebello Mosikili, during the Sunday briefing, underscored the high state of alertness among South African security agencies. In Montclair, police arrested four individuals in connection with taxi-related violence, which resulted in two deaths. They also seized two unlicensed firearms.Mosikili emphasised that no one is above the law, and the rule of law will be enforced without exception.
