Google has announced an investment of up to US$2 billion in Malaysia, marking a major step in the company’s commitment to the country’s digital transformation. This investment includes the development of the tech giant's first data centre in the country, the establishment of a Google Cloud Region, and the launch of an artificial intelligence literacy program for students and educators.

The company adds that its data centre will enhance the performance of its services like Search, Maps, and Workspace, while the new Cloud Region will offer high-performance, low-latency cloud services to various sectors.
