Street Talk understands the private capital firm has nabbed PwC debt and capital specialist Russell Sinclair to oversee its newly established start-up debt fund.

Sinclair is well known in private equity circles, having headed up Westpac’s loan syndications and acquisition finance unit before PwC. There, he was involved in most of the major buyouts over the past decade, lending to the likes of KKR, Pacific Equity Partners and Blackstone Group. Sinclair is also a former board member of the country’s private equity industry association, AVCAL.

Crescent Capital is best known for its healthcare deals, picking up stakes in ASX-listed Australian Clinical Labs, National Medical Services Group andCrescent isn’t the first private equity fund to go down the credit route. Pacific Equity Partners launched its Capital Solutions fund in 2021, run by managing director Jake Haines.
