Williamson County, the Texas Department of Transportation , and the Samsung Corporation celebrated the completion of Samsung Highway in southwest Taylor on Friday.
The newly finished section of the highway is meant to increase accessibility and safety for people and products traveling to and from the Samsung Austin Semiconductor Plant in Taylor.Texas Governor Greg Abbott praised the Highway's completion, saying it will be the "gateway to the largest foreign direct investment in Texas history."
“With more than $40 billion invested in Texas and the creation of thousands of jobs, Samsung is the leading company in the future success of our great state,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “Today, we are here to celebrate the next phase of Samsung’s semiconductor facility in Taylor, a more than $16.6 million investment in the new Samsung Highway.
Several other road projects in the area, including improvements and expansion to Country Road 401, Country Road 404, and Farm-to-Market 973, were also completed.
