The Dallas Mavericks acquired center Daniel Gafford in a deal with the Washington Wizards ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

Gafford struggled to find playing time during his one and a half seasons with the Bulls, averaging 5.0 points and 2.8 boards in just over 13 minutes a game. He got a bigger opportunity with the Wizards and made the most of it, averaging 9.7 points and 6.1 rebounds in 21 minutes per game over four seasons in Washington. This season, he’s averaging career highs in points , rebounding and free throw percentage .
