Local makers and brands will be selling a range of accessories and clothing, plus hot drinks and pastries

Stockport's independent shopping scene has flourished over the past few years with a number of businesses opening in the town's historic quarter.

And while stores selling a variety of independent fashion and homeware items have popped up along The Underbanks, the town's historic mills are also playing host to Greater Manchester makers and creatives.Last year, Miru Mill, a co-working hub for creatives, designed by creatives was set up in the heart of Stockport Old Town. Run by Emiko Studios, a slow fashion brand with its own shop on the Underbanks, it is located in a former cotton mill dating back to the early 19th Century.

Taking place on Sunday, 23 June, from 11am until 5pm, there will be a number of independent businesses popping up at the space. There is a £1 entry to the event, which will be donated to medical aid for Palestine. Roop, a sustainable fashion and accessories brand makes and sells a variety of handbags and hair accessories made from leftover fabrics, will also be in attendance. Meanwhile, Be Diddy, a brand that sells children's vintage items, and Bloma, showcasing floral-inspired jewellery will also be heading down.
