CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Tendon Manufacturing was founded in 1988. And the family-owned Warrensville Heights company says it has never laid off an employee.
Tendon Manufacturing was founded by Michael Gordon, Sr. and Greg Tench, who worked together and formed what would become a lifelong friendship. Tench knew the manufacturing side of the metal fabrication business, while Gordon knew how to handle the fiscal side, so they started Tendon, a combination of their last names.
Tendon has employed and housed 30 Ukrainian refugees in the last six months, and the company offers English lessons. “We provide training, and folks are getting paid and earning good money right out of high school,” said Michael Gordon Jr. “The younger folks like it because they’re getting to work with the latest and greatest toys in manufacturing, because we invest in all of this amazing technology. Things like robotics, and programming and fiber optics that the younger generation really seems to adapt to so easily.
