According to the National Federation of Independent Business, small business optimism is still down from its pre-COVID peak despite seeing an uptick in recent months. NFIB Research Center executive director Holly Wade joins Wealth! to give insight into the current landscape for small business owners.

You know, it's interesting, especially as we think about hiring and, and compensation struggles for those small business owners.So right now for those looking to hire those that have unfilled job openings, we're seeing a lot of those in construction, uh transportation, manufacturing kind of all in the service sector.

Well, it's certainly getting more difficult because, you know, consumers are fatigued with price increases.They're looking to be more strategic about their purchases.And so the small business owners, especially when it's the owner, many of the customers know the owner personally. And then additionally, on the consumer side where they're trying to sell into some of those either larger com tracks or even one time customers.
