Kaizer Chiefs will include a quartet of young players in their squad for the upcoming campaign. One of them could solve a problem position.

New goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi has been taking the ‘stoppers through their place in Turkey. One of those is 21-year-old Bontle Molefe, a player on the fringes of the first team for some time. A wrist injury and subsequent surgery derailed long portions of 2023 but he’s fit and firing again. Molefe might be a seriously timely solution to a pressing problem for the Glamour Boys. 2024 feels like his time to shine after enough months out of the limelight.

Chiefs were recently quoted a staggering R30 million price if they wanted to sign Chippa and Nigeria star Stanley Nwabali. It’s also been rumoured that Richards Bay’s Salim Magoola was a cheaper alternative, but that talk has also cooled.Jessica Motaung will make a definitive statement on the future of Itumeleng Khune soon. It’s impossible to see a scenario where he stays on as a member of the playing personnel, so Chiefs will need to reinforce that department.

Chiefs fans, would you be happy with Bvuma, Petersen and Molefe as the club’s three ‘keepers for next season? Or do they need to splash some cash?
