A US tech company is under fire for a job ad that described desired applicants as "preferably Caucasian”.
Information technology staffing and recruiting company Cynet Systems apologised for the job listing, which was spotted last week by Twitter users.Helena McCabe posted a screenshot of the job listing on Twitter with the "preferably Caucasian" caveat circled, asking the company, "How could you POSSIBLY think that's okay?"
The company, based in Sterling, Virginia, apologised a day later on Twitter for the "anger & frustration caused by the offensive job post”."The individuals involved have been terminated. We will take this as a learning experience & will continue to serve our diverse community.
Cynet Systems' co-CEO, Ashwani Mayur, issued a statement saying the employees who posted the job listing wrote it outside company policy. "Both of our owners are Indian-Americans, our workforce is over 60 per cent minority, and we are certified as a diversity supplier by the National Minority Supplier Development Council," the statement said.
I literally see many traineeships and job positions that only allow indigenous people as well as female only positions. How is that any different?

Yet ads for people from minority groups are acceptable, strange logic.
And those sexist ads for share accommodation that prefer female...

You’ll find that the Chinese do this, with impunity in Australia. Nobody checks them.
Yeah! Well you'll find many instances of blacks only jobs in US
