As Westlake City Council heads into its August break, the July 18 meeting was a busy one, with council passing nine ordinances and scheduling a public hearing on another.

Updated: Jul. 22, 2024, 11:56 p.m.Westlake City Council passes nine ordinances before heading into its August recess.WESTLAKE, Ohio -- With City Council heading into its August break, the July 18 meeting was a busy one, with council passing nine ordinances and scheduling a public hearing on another.

Council first adopted changes to the zoning of land at the northeast corner of Crocker Road and Corporate Circle, shifting from an Executive Office Park District to Planned Unit Development .A PUD can include townhomes, single-family homes, senior living facilities, grocery stores, restaurants, daycares, office spaces, religious institutions and even light industrial buildings such as warehouses and storage facilities.

Another ordinance, which supplements sections of the zoning code regarding minimum yard dimensions in residential districts, is heading for a fourth reading and a public hearing when council returns Sept. 5.
