The Gauteng Department of Education says there are 146 000 incomplete online applications for Grades 1 and 8 for the 2025 academic year.

The Department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona says, “To ensure that you have completed the 5 step application process, the parents need to register their details; register home address details; thirdly, register the learner details; fourthly, apply to a minimum of three to five schools; the 5th step which is the last one is to upload documents.”
