A car rental company has attracted dozens of complaints from consumers for failing to return security bonds in a timely manner | rachelclun

"The bond issue we have has caused us and our customers a great deal of strain which we are working though alongside our internal and external accountants," Atlas chief operating officer Scott Atkins said.

The company says the security deposit is refunded "up to 10 business after the return of the vehicle if all outstanding amounts have been settled" and subject to the terms and conditions. She said he tried contacting them via email and Facebook Messenger, and then on April 5 her boss asked her to follow it up with the rental company's Mascot office in Sydney's inner-south.

Ms Melbourne said after then contacting the company via Facebook they responded on April 13, and told her the bond had been processed. "Atlas Car Rental apologies to all our customers who have experienced delays in receiving their bond refunds."
