A strike of nearly 2,500 janitors across Denver was averted Saturday as the unionized group and cleaning companies came to a tentative agreement on a new contract.

Paul López, Denver’s Clerk and Recorder, right, turned out to show his support for local janitors as they take part in a Service Employees International Union rally at 17th and California streets in Denver on July 23, 2024. López’ father was a janitor in Denver for decades. The SEIU’s agreement with the largest cleaning companies in Colorado expires on Sunday, July 28th.

The 2,400 janitors represented by SEIU are united under one “master contract” that is bargained between them and all of their employers. “The DMCA employers … are pleased to have reached a mutual agreement with the union so that all parties can continue their focus on providing the highest level of service to our clients,” Nesse said. Here's where Colorado's wolves roamed in July“No liquor, no beer, no money, just the steaks."
