There are plans for stronger security measures to tackle the problem.

Businesses in Stockport have been plagued by 'unauthorised' visitors causing 'disruption and damage.'

The business park has a number of occupiers, including independent companies and a Toshiba office, but problems have been caused by people going to the site out of regular office hours. The number of issues from 'unwelcome' visitors has led to a planning application for a new gate, with a rising barrier and bollards.

It adds: "The proposed vehicle management system will be comprised of a rising traffic barrier with connected rising bollards to prevent forceful entry, both on the road and pavement to the bike shed."
