COSATU in the Western Cape is calling for a thorough investigation into the fate of 11 fishermen who went missing when their vessel sank in Hout Bay about two months ago.
The union federation picketed outside the offices of Sea Harvest in Cape Town but left the memorandum of demands at their doorstep after the company refused to receive the document.COSATU provincial Secretary Malvern De Bruyn says they are concerned about the safety of workers offshore. “We know that there is investigation. So, we can’t say that the investigators are at fault but we wanted the investigation to be conducted.
It must be done thoroughly so that we can know what really happened on that sad day. And we know that if the company is at fault, the full law must take its course.
