ANC interim spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi addresses media briefing in Boksburg.

African National Congress interim spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi says the party must be given space to deliberate on the matter of the Johannesburg Mayor, Kabelo Gwamanda.Godlimpi was speaking in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg, where the ANC National Executive Committee is meeting.

He says, “The ANC will not just enter just because some opposition leader has views on what should happen. The ANC will consider the state of local government and make a determination on what is the best foot forward.” “It will pull all structures of the ANC along including the PECs of Gauteng and the RECs in Gauteng. So we will not be dictated to by what Mr Herman Mashaba thinks should be happening. But when the ANC has come to the conclusion that some change to stabilize local government should happen, that will happen,” Godlimpi adds.
