Scottie Scheffler clinched the gold medal at the Paris Olympics - but the prize money is much different to the other wins during his record-breaking year on the PGA Tour

New Olympic golf champion Scottie Scheffler will treasure his gold medal but will not receive the type of prize money he is used to for his win in Paris.

And the lack of a grand prize at the Paris Olympics means that Scheffler was unable to add to his record-breaking earnings. The decision not to award the Olympic medalists with prize money was made by the International Golf Federation, which oversees the event. Scheffler will not be overly concerned about Olympic prize money, though, as he recently broke his own record for the most amount earned on the PGA Tour in a single season. The new gold medalist has already been paid £22million across 16 events in 2024, with close to £13million coming from his seven signature event appearances alone.
