The readiness assessment programme under the National Policy on Industry 4.0 or Industry4WRD has so far received over 300 applications from small and medium enterprises .
International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Ong Kian Ming said the ministry, together with its agencies, would extend the programme’s roadshows to some of the smaller towns in the country as capital cities have been covered.“By the end of the year, I am confident that we will be able to get more than 500 companies to sign up,” he told reporters after officiating at the INTI International College Kuala Lumpur’s annual Business Week in Kuala Lumpur today.
Industry4WRD-RA is a comprehensive programme to help firms assess their capabilities and readiness to adopt Industry 4.0 technologies and processes. The assessment uses a pre-determined set of indicators to understand their present capabilities and gaps, which will enable them to prepare feasible strategies and plans to move towards Industry 4.0.
