Ask highly successful businessman David Malcolm what advice he has for those embarking on their career paths and he doesn’t hesitate.

“Nothing will serve someone better early in their career than a great mentor,” he explains from first-hand experience. “Mentors gave me the benefit of their experience. They helped me avoid making mistakes they might have made, and kept me moving forward, even when times were tough.”

He holds the highest commercial real estate designation in the U.S. and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Presidents Program. Today, he is a guest lecturer at both Harvard and Stanford business schools, grateful to be able to share his lessons learned.He extols the virtues of mentoring not just in business, but also in life. Ask him if he mentored his two sons and he will tell you how proud he is that he was able to do just that.

In 2001, it introduced the Guardian Scholars Program to boost those youth as they transition from high school to higher education … including a uniquely designed mentorship initiative. Because each young adult is unique, the mentorship program includes one-on-one mentorship, group mentorship, identity mentorship and peer-to-peer mentorship.
