Dozens of workers have lost their jobs after a business on the Nottinghamshire-Derbyshire border fell into administration. BFG Employment Ltd, which had been based out of Cossall Industrial Estate off Soloman Road, appointed liquidators on Tuesday, August 6.

Steven Glanill of Leicester-based CBA Business Solutions, who is liquidating the business, confirmed the Ilkeston firm had gone into administration, but declined to expand on why the venture had not been able to pay off its debts. The firm had employed around 40 staff in 2022, according to its most recent financial filings with Companies House.

While administrators did confirm all employees had been redundant, they did not clarify exactly how many people this had impacted. Companies House showed that BFG Employment Ltd's annual accounts and confirmation statement were both overdue at the time liquidators were appointed. . While the company's primary trading address was an industrial unit on Cossall Industrial Estate, its main office is listed as an address in Coalville, Leicestershire.

As of July 31, 2022 the firm was due to pay its creditors £78,946 over the next year. It recorded having £68,894 in its profit and loss account at the end of that year, but failed to file its financial records on time for 2023, leaving the state of its recent finances unknown.
