Steven 'Funky' Muir will line up as a finalist in the Scottish Bar and Pub Awards.

Beatbox Leisure chief, Steven Muir, will contend for Hospitality Manager of the Year at the Scottish Bar and Pub Awards .

Steven told Ayrshire Live: "I went in to McCabe's as a part-time barman to earn some extra pennies as a student. Never did I think I'd be here all these years later in the position I am now. "But ultimately, as a manager you are only as good as the staff around you and although it might be me going up for the award, it's always a team effort."

He said: "As a trade we were shut for 18 months, which is incredible to think about now. We're rightly proud of venues like Harleys and to have somewhere like that not operating for all of that time was crazy. The stress levels we went through professionally and as people during that time was tough.
