The MK Party says Floyd Shivambu and Mzwanele Manyi's departure will benefit opposition parties.

The Umkhonto Wesizwe Party says Floyd Shivambu and Mzwanele Manyi’s departure from the Economic Freedom Fighters will benefit opposition parties in Parliament.

The MK party’s spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela has welcomed Shivambu and Manyi, saying their new membership will also bolster the party’s political image. “I think it’s a win, at the end of the day for all the political parties in the progressive caucus. Naturally, the two members who are joining us would probably be restricted in certain inputs towards the MK party, as the official opposition. This can only bolster and sharpen our strategic posture, and our strategy outside, as well as inside the parliament.”Manyi says he resigned from the EFF because he wanted to support former President Jacob Zuma and his MK Party.
