Calls have intensified for the Gauteng Education Department to ensure safety in schools in parts of the province including Eldorado Park.It is believed that some learners belong to gangs.
Chiloane says he has already met with police they have agreed on a strategy to keep the schools safe. “But what is more important is the community needs to be on board. If we don’t have the community participating, we don’t have the parental body protecting the school, whatever money we can put, whatever soldiers we can put, it will not necessarily work because the most critical people in this strategy are the learners, educators, parents and community. So, these are critical stakeholders.
