Liverpool Restaurants

The Asian restaurant opened in January this year

A restaurant which opened on one of Liverpool's best-known streets at the start of this year has closed its doors. Asian restaurant Liu Shi, based at 60 Hope Street, has shut. Located on the street between the Anglican and Metropolitan Cathedrals, the venue occupied the 60 Hope Street address and was famed for its extravagant floral exteriors. Liu Shi first opened in January this year serving a range of flavours from all over Asia, including Thailand, Korea, China and Japan.

60 Hope Street was previously occupied by Elite 60 , created by chef Bayram Yuce. The restaurant focused on international cuisine with a menu featuring wagyu beef, lobster and quail. The downstairs area was similarly used as an accompanying cocktail bar. Elite 60 opened in December 2021 but closed before reaching a full year in business. Its predecessor restaurant, known simply as 60 Hope Street operated for 22 years before closing at the end of March 2020 when the covid pandemic hit.
