Four Board members resigned last week.

The Comrades Marathon Association says its to take a stand against cyberbullying, harassment and defamation. It also wants to clear allegations of corruption, fraud and theft against board members and members.Last week, four Board members including the Association’s Chairperson Mqondisi Ngcobo and Vice-Chairperson Leslie Burnard resigned.

This happened a week after another Board member was banned for life after being cleared of racism allegations. The association’s interim chairperson Jeff Minnaar says, “We would also like to take a stand towards combating cyberbullying, harassment and defamation, which have become pervasive issues affecting individuals in our very own Association. The CMA believes that everyone has the right to feel safe and respected online. To address this pressing issue, we are considering taking legal action against the perpetrators of these acts.
