Mashatile led the South African Police Service annual commemorative ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria for the police officers who died between April last year and March this year.Mashatile says the deceased were not just law enforcement officials, they belonged to families. He says, “These police officers who died while protecting South Africa and her people are not just a statistic; they were husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, and most of them were breadwinners in their families.
