Israeli warplanes have attacked southern Lebanon after 32 people were killed and more than 3,000 injured by exploding pagers and walkie-talkies across the country. Meanwhile, a Hungary-based firm have been accused of being an Israeli shell company that manufactured the pagers.

Lebanese ambassador Rami Mortada has told Sky News the Middle East is the closest it has been in 50 years to a regional war that would 'spare no one'.He said Israeli 'war crimes' have put the region on 'the brink of an all-out war'.Benjamin Netanyahu was holding the 'whole region hostage' to avoid his own political fate, said Mr Mortada.

'So he needs to put his country continuously on a path of war and violence, because the moment he stops, he would face the consequences internally.'Asked if he had a message for the Israeli people, Mr Mortada said that if they want peace, they must elect officials who respond to peace initiatives.
