Local truck drivers say things could get serious for them the longer a strike lasts.

Trucking companies are hoping for a quick resolution.) - “One day of shut down equals one week of disruption in the supply chain,” said Mark Colson, President and CEO of the Alabama Trucking Association.

“The people that are hit hardest from a port strike will be small businesses and in trucking most companies that service the ports like in Mobile have 10 trucks or less,” added Colson. With the deadline inching closer, it’s been a scramble for local trucking companies like Heartsdale Trucking. Some companies like Richard Murray & Company are trying to find ways to help.
