The Crisp Shack's seasoned fries have been a huge hit with customers and even the burgers they sell have a nod to crisp flavours.

It was a taste sensation that stopped Alexandra Wilkins in her tracks and helped spark a eureka moment which has changed her family’s life for the better.

Getting the flavours perfected was just the first phase for the start up business as the couple launched their own food truck, the Crisp Shack. The seasoned fries have been a huge hit with customers and even the burgers they sell have a nod to crisp flavours – their smoky bacon burger is made with pulled pork and bacon.

The Crisp Shack has proved extremely popular with customers too, with visitors regularly travelling to Enniskillen from Belfast and Lisburn to enjoy the food. “The truck works very well for us, although sometimes if it’s particularly windy it can be a little tricky. In the future we have plans to expand into a bricks and mortar restaurant and potentially open franchises, but for now the food truck is working very well.”

The Crisp Shack was launched after support from the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme. The government-backed personal loans are available to individuals looking to start or grow a business in the UK.
