The MEC says the families will continue getting support even after the funeral of the victims.

Mourners gather at Lusikisiki College during a mass memorial service for the death of 18 people killed in Ngobozana in the Eastern Cape.Eastern Cape Community Safety MEC Xolile Nqatha says the families of the 18 victims who were shot and killed at Ngobozana village in Lusikisiki are receiving support from the provincial government.“They will get R6 000 per family, in terms of those vouchers, that is post the funeral.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of the OR Tambo District Municipality, Mesuli Ngqondwana, has lamented the lack of enough police personnel to tackle the spike in violent crimes in his district.“As the OR Tambo, we are a bit uncomfortable and unhappy and we have the impression that criminals are taking charge of the area.
